Meet Your Provider: Huong (Kimmie) Iodice

My name is Huong Iodice, though most of my colleagues, friends, DNP PMHNP students, and patients call me Kimmie. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC, FPA, APN) with full practice authority in Chicago, Illinois. I earned my PMHNP degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago and received my undergraduate nursing degree from Azusa Pacific University in Southern California. Both of these nursing schools are consistently ranked among the top tier in the nation. Over the years, I have mentored many DNP PMHNP students, most of whom were referred to me by Rush University College of Nursing, which also holds a top-tier national ranking. Additionally, I serve as a clinical preceptor for Physician Assistant students at the College of Health Sciences at the same university.
Before I introduce more about myself, I would like to tell you why I named my clinic YOU Psychiatry Clinic. As a PMHNP-BC, I strongly believe in treating the person, not the symptoms. I opened this clinic to meet your individual needs by providing specially-tailored treatment plans that are based on the most up-to-date research data. Nothing gives me greater joy than seeing my patients succeed in meeting their treatment goals. I believe the best way to get there is to work in partnership with my patients to help you become your best version of you.
Let me tell you a little about me. I have extensive experience working as a PMHNP-BC at two large healthcare systems in Chicago and the Chicagoland area where I have treated chronic, complex medical and psychiatric patients. Prior to this, I was a clinical registered nurse at a large healthcare system in Southern California where I worked with patients who suffered traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, strokes, and heart attacks. As a provider, I believe it is essential to constantly update my clinical knowledge. In addition to my daily work with patients, I go to continuing education conferences throughout the year (my favorites are from Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital). My other interests are neuroscience and psychopharmacology. I believe you deserve a provider at the leading edge of medical and psychiatric science.
In my personal time, I like to spend time with my family and go to different music, art, and cultural events in Chicago and Los Angeles.
Now that I’ve told you a little about me, I invite you to sit down and tell me a little more about you. Together, we can tailor a treatment plan based on your symptoms and needs. We will take this journey together, one step at a time.
be WELL, be YOU
